Good enough

I was told I wasn't good enough,

I was told I needed to change,

That my work wasn't up to standard,

My confidence was lacking.

I knew it wasn't all on me,

That I couldn't take all the blame,

Today I proved them wrong,

We smashed it out the park.

Now they have lost me,

There is no turning back,

But I'm pleased we got a 'good'

For now my job is done.

I can leave on a high,

Knowing I did a job well done,

Despite what anyone says,

My work here is done.
